In the early hours of today, Real Madrid defeated Valencia 2–0 away from home in the latest La Liga match. French star Kylian Mbappé sealed the victory with a late goal, but beyond his strike, his confrontation with the refereeing team became one of the main talking points of the game. Footage broadcast by Spanish television showed Mbappé engaging in a verbal dispute with the fourth official during the match.

This is not the first time Mbappé has expressed dissatisfaction with refereeing decisions in La Liga. Although he scored in stoppage time of the second half to help his team secure a hard-fought win, he appeared visibly frustrated for most of the match.
According to footage revealed by Spanish broadcaster DAZN, the conflict began at the end of the first half. Mbappé was extremely confused by an offside decision and walked straight toward the fourth official, asking, “How could that possibly be offside? I need an explanation.”
With cameras everywhere, the fourth official clearly did not want to discuss the issue on camera and replied, “I’m sorry, let’s talk inside the tunnel.” Mbappé then turned toward the tunnel and responded, “Fine, let’s go inside then. Why aren’t you following me?”
When the players returned to the pitch for the second half, the dispute had not subsided. Mbappé tried to continue the conversation, but the fourth official coldly replied, “We’ve already talked about it.”
That response completely ignited Mbappé’s anger. He said furiously, “You kept saying we’d talk inside, I went in, but you didn’t say anything to me. Now you’re talking to me, and you won’t even look at me?”
Mbappé then turned to his teammate and compatriot Eduardo Camavinga and complained in French, “Bro, these referees are just a bunch of clowns.” Because the remark was made in French, Spanish commentators were unable to translate its meaning in real time.
